Truth and Beauty.
Purity and Honor.
Whips and Chains.

Philosophy
A whole lot of what I do is tongue-in-cheek, and it's more or less up to the audience (if any) to work out what is "real" and what is not.

I spew out Left-Hand-Path pseudo-intellectualism, BDSM faux-spiritualism, and the like.

Setian philosophy with a side order of silliness.
Left Hand Path pseudo-intellectualism.
For a very long time, I identified with Satanism, but then I got bored of that.
I still respect it, but it's just not me.
I favor Setianism more nowadays.

I've always been involved in New-Age hippy Pagan mumbo--but never jumbo.
No, never jumbo.
Spiritualism of BDSM and Lycanthropy and Vampirism and Potatoes.
Extremely bizarre reconciliation of opposites.

The "indoctrinated" listener will recognize Taoism, Setianism, Asatru, Tantra, Hermeticism, Existentialism, and a whole lot of other "-ism"s in my work.
Don't worry about it.
Just lean back and enjoy it.

Sound
Gothic-Folk music from the poisonous wasteland, known as Los Angeles.

Founded 1989. The project no longer sucks, as of 2003.

I do what I do for the pure love of the creative process, and for no other reason. I share it with you in the hopes that you might listen to some of it, and might get something out of some of it. If you don't, that's ok. I'll continue to make art for art's sake.
Like the gods of the Germanic pagan pantheon, I do what I do, because it is what I am--no other reason is valid.

I use all sorts of acoustic instruments: violin, cello, bass viol, foot-pump reed organ, alto recorder, banjo, xylophone, drums...

I have also been known to use a drum machine and weird experimental loops and stuff like that.

Some folks call this kind of music Wyrd-folk, or else Neofolk, or else Apocalyptic Folk or else dark folk or else folk noir or else psychedelic folk or whatever other names people enjoy bantying about.
I will not be losing any sleep over what to call myself.
Again, don't worry about it.
Just lean back and enjoy it.

About That Symbol
Two snakes outreaching to Infinity, one to the negative, the other to the positve. Each makes an "S" shape, showing that no path is straight. Though they reach out to the Beyond, each are joined together by the terrestrial principle, embodied by a compass rose. The compass rose indicates a) the four cardinal points and b) the eight directions of Chaos/Discordia.

The serpent on the right has seven spots and an upward pointing tongue, indicating the principle of the civil, the social, the obedient, the surrender of the Self to outside forces, dissolution of Self into the Other. This is the Right Hand Path, which I recognize, but do not generally favor for myself. The left serpent has six spots, and a downward pointing tongue, indicating the untamed, the antisocial, the worship of Self, the notion that the Divine lies within each individual person, rather than with any external principle. This is the Left Hand Path.

Remember "Conan the Barbarian?"
That's where I ripped off the idea.
Too bad.
Don't worry about it.
Just lean back and enjoy it.
